If you’re looking for a natural way to help boost your immune system, reduce inflammation and experience other benefits, this recipe is for you! It’s packed with nutrients and health boosting ingredients. It’s simple to make, and very customizable. If you search “master tonic” or “fire cider” recipes, you’ll be inundated with simple recipes that use about seven ingredients. My recipe includes a few extra ingredients than the more simple versions. You can research each ingredient for it’s health benefit (I won’t reinvent the wheel). Please note, if you know an ingredient causes negative effects for you, simply omit. This is a very lose recipe, not like baking a loaf of bread!

Ingredient list: (add, omit or substitute anything if you can’t source an item or it causes issues)
**This list is for a quart mason jar, you can increase the ingredients for a 1/2 gallon at your desire
*Ginger root 2″ *Turmeric root 2″ *Horseradish root 2″ – peel and chop (a spoon works great to peel)
*1/2 Onion (red or white or both) – peel and course chop
*5 cloves Garlic – course chopped
*2 x sprigs Rosemary – course chopped (can add other herbs, thyme, oregano, etc.)
*1 x Bay leaf
*2 x hot peppers of choice (total 4) (I use Habenero and Jalapeno) – cut stem, course chop (use the seeds!)
*2 x Orange Slice *2 x Lemon Slice – zest and slice, adding the zest and slice to jar
*1 Tbs ground Cinnamon (can use fresh or pre-ground) *1 x Star Anise pod – add direct to jar
*1Tbs fresh ground Himalayan salt and pepper each
*Raw Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) with “The Mother” (will vary on how many ingredients you use and how large your container is)
Take your ingredients as listed above and place in a quart mason jar. Fill the mason jar to the top with ACV and seal the jar. Let it sit in a room temperature area not in the sun for at least a two weeks. I usually let mine sit for a month or more. When you’re ready, strain out the liquid into a separate jar with a fine mesh screen (metal works great). Depending on how big your strainer is, you might be able to strain it into a large bowl or pot. If you only have a smaller screen, you can spoon the hard ingredients out and then pour your liquid over the screen and into a new jar. Try and squeeze the liquid out of the hard ingredients to get all the goodness!
With the liquid in a new jar, you can add honey into the mixture to reduce some of the acidity and heat from the peppers. One or two tablespoons depending on your taste.
To consume, first stir the mixture to make sure you’re getting all the settled ingredients. You can either consume a tablespoon of the mixture straight (I add two drops of colloidal silver) or add a tablespoon to a glass of water. You can also add a little elderberry syrup as you take it to further sweeten the flavor. I use this every few days, moderation (balance). Some people take every day, even twice.
Now, you’ve got choices with the leftovers.
A) I reuse the hard ingredients, simply place them back into the jar and refill the jar with ACV. You can add new slices of orange, lemon or whatever else you fancy. Seal the jar, and repeat the process again. After the second batch utilizing the hard ingredients, I then use them in my cooking. It goes great in marinades and the like. I add filtered water to the jar and refrigerate. I use a spoonful in certain dishes to add flavor and the included health benefits,
B) You can discard the ingredients into your compost, or however you dispose of food waste.
